This website is my culminating project for the Master of Educational Technology degree at Boise State University. It functions as an ePortfolio, showcasing my work as an educational technology graduate student. The site is divided into six main pages: introduction, table of artifacts, reflection video, rationale paper, course syllabi, and professional artifacts. The introduction page provides a look at my personal journey through life, studies, and my career. The artifact page links my coursework to AECT standards. The artifacts are all available to view through various online media resources. The reflection video was made using Camtasia for Mac, plays via YouTube, and explains the most valuable courses and work during my time at Boise State. The rationale paper explains how each artifact represents mastery of a specific AECT standard, what I learned when I created it, how is depended my knowledge of theory, and how I have used it in my professional career. The course syllabi page contains a digital publication of the syllabi for each course I took during the M.E.T. program for a better look at the objectives, assignments, grading scales, and standards for each course. The professional artifacts page links to projects I have worked on for my two elementary schools while I have been studying at Boise State.

About Me:
In 1988 I went to Space Camp in Hunstville, AL. It was there I discovered learning could be engaging when technology is included in instruction. I earned my BA in Spanish from the University of Iowa while spending 10 months living in Santiago, Chile. Then I moved to Ames, Iowa where I earned my K-12 teaching certificate with an emphasis in FLES from Iowa State University. I began my career as an assistant teacher in a Gifted and Talented Rocketry and Aviation summer school program in 1990. In 1996, I created and taught Computer Fun to gifted and talented elementary students in Des Moines, Iowa where I also worked with at-risk high school students. From there I moved to Denver, Colorado where I taught K-8 Gifted and Talented Spanish. I married my Husband in 2001 and moved to Wichita Falls, TX for his aviation career where I taught middle school Spanish, and facilitated a French and German distance learning class. After teaching Kindergarten via distance learning in South Korea from 2009-2010, my family settled down in Tucson where I became the Curriculum Technology Integrator for Ventana Vista and Canyon View elementary schools; adding Esperero Canyon middle school part-time this past February. Last year I earned certificates in school technology coordination, online teaching, and digital citizenship. I will finish my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology through Boise State University in May 2014.

I enjoy working with faculty and staff to find new and engaging ways to incorporate technology into their lessons. Helping students effectively use technology (especially in immersion classrooms 🙂 ), creating professional development courses, following tech trends, evaluation/planning, WBID, and developing interactive classroom websites are the highlights of my days!

Here is a little inspirational video I made while preparing to make iMovie Trailers as book reviews for the 2014 Ventana Vista Love of Reading Library QR code project (I built a new site this year using Wix.com).
